Worn to screen at DanceLive

SUNDAY 18TH OCTOBER, 17:30

Worn is an exploration into change and how things transform over time. Choreographed and performed by acclaimed contemporary dance duo, Errol White and Davina Givan, Worn draws inspiration from the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is mended with gold or silver, making the cracks into a beautiful and valuable part of the object.

Worn was several years in the making and was due to tour Scotland during 2020. However, due to Covid-19, the production had to be cancelled the day before its premiere. This film version of Worn has been created by White & Givan, with filmmaker Barrie Barreto, within the context of the ‘new normal’. Its exploration of how the body is affected through experiences in time and space, marks and scars us that become part of our history and affect our present as well as our possible futures, feels more essential now than ever.

This event will be a live premiere of a filmed version of Worn filmed at the Lemon Tree, Aberdeen, followed by a Q&A with the artists.
